How has the internet impacted your own personal life?
I think the internet has been able to help me resolve answers and questions with just a click of a button. The internet helps fix instant questions or problems without the hassle of going to a library or digging through books. It is a convenience factor that helps eliminate waiting for answers. Everything is just right there at your finger tips.
What sites do you go to regularly to learn new things?
I regularly use Google. It always seems to bring me to where or what I need at the time. I also find myself using WebMD regularly when I am sick or have any medical issue or concern. It helps eliminate concerns that may arise. Another site I use is Pinterest. I am a crafty person, and love to cook. They have excellent ideas for crafts and amazing recipes that you can follow.
Are there authors or sites that you “follow?”
Honestly, I have no idea who is the founder of the websites I use. I have a comfort zone and have yet to start using Twitter, so I am not following anyone either. I just started a Twitter account for this class.
When does the internet or the web help your learning, and when does it distract from good learning for you?
I feel as though the internet is a very valuable asset. It offers a variety of different content to learners who can get the information they are looking for quickly. But I do feel as though the internet can be positive and negative. It distracts some people from learning due to the high volume of video games and music.
How do you feel about technology and learning?
I feel as though with this day and age learning from the internet has helped younger children tremendously. I think there are excellent programs for children to help them enhance their skills that will help them benefit in the long run. At such an early age children are learning things/tools that I had no idea about till later on in my life. I believe it can help benefit the next generation to come.
